Job Summary
Work Shift
2 - Second ShiftThe Plant Services-Plant Maintenance position is responsible for general maintenance, painting, and project work in the plants to support plant safety and to implement/maintain company 5S standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Demonstrate the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors.
2. Sustain and improve plant adherence to established 5S standards including, but not limited to: clean/paint plant ceilings, grind/polish/seal floors, paint poles, hoists, walls, walk aisles.
3. Maintain plants through regular cleaning and routine maintenance including, but not limited to: regularly run sweepers in the plant per an established schedule, clean fans, hoists, etc., that are above regular 5S activities in the plant.
4. Complete project work within plants driven by CI project plans and needs.
5. Operate scissor lift, genie lift, and forklift to complete project work.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma required.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Ability to complete precise measurements with accuracy, including the application of paint and chemicals.
- Ability to operate fork trucks, man lifts, end loaders, pickup trucks, belt grinders, hand drills, electric saws, and floor grinders/scrubbers.
- Ability to effectively manage time and resources working toward timely completion of projects.
- Demonstrates consistent application of all safety precautions and utilization of appropriate PPE based on tasks being completed.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills with the flexibility and ability to work with several areas and levels within the company.
- Ability to work off the ground by using high lifts or on ladders.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and ensures the project/task is done right the first time.
