Job Summary
Work Shift
1 - First ShiftThe Parts Manager manages the daily operations of the assigned business segment parts sales by providing quality support to Vermeer dealers globally. This position ensures the parts business is developed and implemented for the distribution network.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Lead by exhibiting the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors. Supervise, organize, mentor and coach assigned team members in performance of their duties while influencing others to carry the Vermeer culture forward. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s strategies and objectives to drive key business results. Use expertise to ensure department is serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.
2. Meet customer expectations including new model launches, parts promotion development and implementation. Assist with setting market pricing, new dealer on-boarding, regional distribution development, backorder escalations, etc.
3. Serve dealers efficiently, timely and accurately in their need for parts by answering phone calls and emails along with other means of communication. Support dealers with inventory planning and reporting, parts health and customer support specialist advice for equipment.
4. Coordinate with parts operations and logistics providers on process improvements to best serve dealer and customer needs.
5. Coordinate the sales of direct ship commodity products.
6. Work with the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system team, and the groups who utilize this tool, to leverage data to best serve customers and help continue to deliver on Customer Experience.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Accounting.
- Minimum 5 years sales and marketing experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of inventory management, shipping logistics and parts sales; thorough knowledge of Vermeer equipment.
- Knowledge in the area of customer support and effective management of customer support team.
- Ability to understand customer needs and expectations; ability to implement processes and procedures to meet those needs and willingness to go the “extra mile”; ability to work with a variety of people at Vermeer.
- Demonstration of strong math skills for inventory and financial analysis purposes; demonstration of good negotiation skills.
- Ability to develop personal, professional and interpersonal relationships with co-workers, staff, customers and the community to meet or exceed expectations.
- Ability to prepare thorough, accurate, professional and error-free documents for management decision-making purposes.
- Demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of customers and Vermeer staff; demonstration of good telephone communication skills.
Travel
Up to 25% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.
Work Location
